Your card should be fine but if you dont have good CPU you might struggle with your FPS at the end of 32 player pole.

Thats pretty normal.Its LFS issue how it draw these lines and other object sometimes.

The 9550 doesnt have 256bit memory interface.Be carefull some of the serie cards have just 64bit memory access so this would slow the card like hell.

256 memory interface is good for AA because you have much wider memory interface to process the data.

I would really try to find at least used NVIDIA 6600(non GT) version.

9550 is notr good card.Get at least used 6600 or 6600GT.

Not so much as 1024 to 512.

Yes,It tells you that you have 0.5P version and thats the issue.
With this one you cant connect to master server which managed the unlocking.

Download the latest version here:

Install and try to unclock again.It should work.

ATI9600XT for AGP slot.Should cost around 50Euro new one and much cheapter the used one.Buy also definately another 51MB of RAM.

Used NVIDIA 6600Gt would be better way to go.Used should cost around 50Euro.
I hope you have AGP graphic slot.

Thanks for the link though, I saw this case but I'm slightly put off with it being a Thermaltake because of the overheating/airflow problems i have in my existing Thermaltake case.

I would remove the CPU cooler,clean it,apply new thermal paste and it should be much better.

Also whats you current Thermaltake case.The one I posted above has planty coolers included so the airflow should be definately fine but ofcourse the decision its up to you.

BTW how old are the CDs you are trying to read?

512MB ram is fine for LFS +XP unless you having many programs running background.The best is always to turn them off before playing any games including LFS.

1GB of ram would be really nice and you need to change the graphic card as well.What type of slot you have for your GPU?Is it AGP or PCI-E (please dont mix it with PCI slots)?

you are really wrong.IF he would pare C2D or AMD X2 processor with that graphic card he would have much more FPS.

D805 fall even behind single core A64 3000+(1.8Ghz) in LFS.
In other games usually too around 10-20 percent.

D805 has also bloody power consumation.

BTW LFS cant use dual core CPUs so they work like single core CPU in LFS.No gain from 2nd core.

seems you have somne power saving features ON so in case LFS doesnt use CPU a lot the CPU or whole system downclock a bit and thats whyt the FPS drop.

When MSN is running it seems it eat resources so the notebook things it must run on "max" and you dont have FPS frop while playing LFS.
